character

Character is the foundation of who we are, the compass that guides us, the anchor that steadies us, and the light that carries us through dark moments. It isn’t inherited; it’s built through our choices, our courage, and our commitment to truth. Titles fade and wealth can disappear, but character endures. True integrity is revealed in what we do when no one is watching, for as Scripture reminds us, “Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

The program focuses on five core foundations:

Character, Vision, Discipline, Drive, and Perseverance

giving mentees clear strategies they can begin using immediately.

Men-Teen is dedicated to reaching youth nationwide and can be hosted by

churches, schools, and community centers that are deeply

committed to investing in the next generation of men.

vision

Vision is a picture planted by God in the heart, an inspiring glimpse of what could be. It stirs passion, guides our steps, and challenges us to pursue the path He has set before us. True vision requires courage, perseverance, and faith, because it is more than something we see; it is something we feel and move toward, even when the way forward is unclear. God-given visions remind us that He is the author of every good and perfect gift, and when He places a calling within us, He will guide us to its fulfillment.

discipline

Discipline is the unwavering focus and determination that moves us toward our goals. It builds consistency, strengthens our inner resolve, and positions us for mastery and success. Anyone can develop discipline through concentration, sacrifice, and steadfast effort, and its rewards are often immediate, bringing clarity, direction, and a deep sense of accomplishment. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 12:24 that “the hands of the diligent will rule,” showing that disciplined people often rise to influence. Ultimately, discipline helps you fulfill your God-given purpose and build a legacy that inspires others.

drive

Drive is the inner motivation that energizes you and pushes you toward your goals. It is the spark that turns ideas into action and transforms vision into reality because without starting, even the best ideas remain unrealized. Spiritually, drive is a gift from God, a fire He places in our hearts to pursue the purpose He has called us to. When our drive aligns with His will, it becomes more than ambition; it becomes obedience, rooted in trust and guided by His wisdom. As John 14:15 reminds us, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

perserverance

Perseverance is the determination to move forward despite obstacles, setbacks, or difficulty. It gives you the strength to rise when others quit and to stay committed even when the journey is long. True success requires sacrifice, patience, and resilience—and perseverance transforms challenges into growth, failures into lessons, and your dreams into reality. As you persevere, you become stronger, wiser, and more equipped for the future, making every hard-earned victory more meaningful.

My Story

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Bennett. I'm a Christian husband, proud father and grandfather. I was born and raised in the city of Detroit, Michigan. I grew up with my father, mother and four siblings. We were a middle class family living in a lower class neighborhood because my father worked many long hours at an auto factory that was a few miles away from our home.

Many of my peers didn't have their fathers living at home and in some cases had no contact with them at all. Some of my friends had no curfews, structure, and they also skipped or dropped out of school. Some also had substance abuse problems and even committed crimes.

The absence of their fathers taught me at a young age the impact a father has in raising children, especially boys.

Assuming their mothers did the best they could, it didn't compensate for their father's absence. I was blessed with both a loving father and mother who worked hard and made sure I had a great foundation for success.
